Clik here to view. It’s happening! The jacket on OKAYADO’s Monster Musume volume 7 manga revealed that an anime adaptation has been green-lit. The series will premiere this July. The first key visual was also included. With the incredible popularity of Monster Musume both in Japan and the United States, it’s no surprise that an anime adaptation would happen. It was only a matter of time.
OKAYADO launched Monster Musume in Tokuma Shoten’s Monthly Comic Ryu magazine in 2012. Seven Seas Entertainment has been releasing the volumes in North America, with volume 6 being the most recent (March 3rd). I reviewed volumes 1 and 2 last February, and I should probably get around to reviewing volumes 3-6 soon. Otherwise, I’m super excited about this announcement. And unlike the character designs of the Triage X anime adaptation, Monster Musume looks great.
In other Monster Musume news, the official website is still accepting fanart until March 31st. All the fan comics and illustrations are displayed on the site, and some will be published in the May issues of Monthly Comic Ryu.
